Values & Ethos

Tanners Brook Primary School is in the heart of its community. In an active city area, we have a beautiful, large and green site. Our school is fortunate in having committed staff and governors, keen children and supportive parents. We value learning for our children and ourselves.

‘Pride, Passion, Achieving Together’

We are forward looking and we have high expectations of what our children should achieve. We work hard to lay the foundations that will make our children capable and open to challenges.

As well as developing the skills they need in reading, writing, maths and other subjects to be well equipped for secondary school, there are a lot of other skills that will help them succeed. Independence, team work, being able to work to a goal, not giving up, learning from mistakes and pride in a job well done are all taught in classroom activities and through wider school life. Social skills are essential as well and playtimes, lunchtime and group learning offer opportunities to develop these into positive assets for the future.

We aim to give each child the opportunities to develop a sense of self respect and self confidence along with a lifelong love of learning.  Within a culture of celebration, every child is motivated and supported as they work towards achieving their best.
