We at the Local Governing Body, support Tanners Brook Primary School within the Academy. There are a number of parent, co-opted and staff governors, comprising of 6 governors and 1 Clerk. The Governing Body work hard to support the school, the staff and every child’s development through assisting to meet the School Improvement Plan (SIP) targets, attending governing body meetings monthly. The parent governors are also assigned roles of Safeguarding, SEN (Special Educational Needs), Finance and Pupil Premium. This involves working with staff members to ensure that the correct measures are in place within the school.
Governors are able to support the school and it’s vision, but also to challenge the school to assist in improvements where identified, including reviewing data to ensure that it is measureable and realistically achievable, against targets laid out in the SIP, that are set by the Academy.
The Governing Body also review Pupil Premium, analyse the school budget and ensure that as a school, Tanners Brook Primary are making every effort to close the gap in attainment, between those children on Pupil Premium and those that are not. This is reviewed on a monthly basis.
